Author and Producer Heather Christie will present Ann Imig’s LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER NYC in Manhattan Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Off Broadway sized theater in The Center at West Park (165 W. 86th St, New York, NY). Details on how to audition are below.

LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER NYC is a well-crafted 90-minute journey of true stories about motherhood—being a mom, having a mom, losing a mom, finding a mom—as many interpretations on the theme of mothering as you can imagine. From hilarious and heartwarming, to emotionally intense and profound, LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER entertains, energizes, brings community together and leaves everyone feeling a little less alone and a little more understood. That’s the goal. A LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER show features about a dozen original readings, read live on-stage by local authors, actors, mothers, fathers, kids . . . really anybody with something to say about motherhood.

Heather performed in the 2017 Baltimore LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER show and knew she wanted to do more with the Ann Imig production. So together with her mother, Suzanne Christie, and her daughter, Cali Christie Snyder, she secured the theatrical license for the Greater Berks Area in Pennsylvania. The 2019 inaugural show was a massive success with over 500 attendees and a stellar, super talented cast of local storytellers, which was life-enhancing for not only Heather and her family, but also for the cast and audience alike. The second annual LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER GREATER BERKS production was slated for Saturday, May 9, 2020, but was canceled due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, and then COVID canceled the 2021 show again.

In the meantime, Heather relocated to New York City and 2022 just got away from her, but she secured the theatrical license for Manhattan 2023 and launched the First Annual LTYM NYC Off-Off Broadway at Theatre 71 April 1, 2023, and she can’t wait for the Second Annual LTYM NYC to be held in the much larger, Off Broadway-sized theater at The Center At West Park.
